2019 Reflections
So were into 2020 and I just wanted to reflect on 2019.
Since I started to write a blog I have received positive feedback from may people who have read them.
Over time I have also been asked to write for a few well known websites and blog sites.
In 2019 Run Ireland (www.RunIreland.com) asked me to write a few featured blogs about my training for the Dublin city Marathon in 2018, this was featured on their website in March 2019 and sent to all subscribers in their ezeen. I was delighted to be asked as they have a huge following and this allows their readers see and understand my message.
I was also asked to write a piece for Sundried (www.sundried.com) on how I train for my triathlons and my marathon. Below you will find links for all my blogs.
I was also featured on "what a pain" blog site, this is a up and coming site for people who suffer from autoimmune diseases and gets a lot of traffic through it, so it was a great honor to be featured here.
Please feel free to give them a read, if you click on the headings below you will access each blog.
So were into 2020 and I just wanted to reflect on 2019.
As we near the end of September being world Chronic Pain month I have thought long and hard about writing this blog.
It's been a while since I wrote a blog in its true essence and for the last few weeks I have been trying to think of a good enough topics.
My Last few blogs were published on the Run Ireland Website in May. In them I speak of dealing with Injury or Surgery and mainly how I prepared for my Hip replacement surgery and then the recovery process.
I was delighted to be featured in the Irish Times https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/health-family/fitness/meet-the-ironman-with-too-much-iron-1.3883331
This article in the Irish Independent from 2016 was the article that really set my story alight and following this I was asked so many times how can I do this, what was my training. I know from Arthritis Ireland that they received so many people asking them the same question.
This blog site is run by a lovely person who has had her fair share of pain and discomfort through her arthritic diseases.
In January 2018 a friend of mine reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in writing about my training for the marathon and also the marathon itself. I was delighted as this would have promoted my message to people out there that even if you have a autoimmune disease you can still challenge yourself to achieve your goals. ...
Back in 2017 I decided that I would try complete the Dublin 70.3 Ironman 2018. I was interviewed in the Irish Independent and following that interview I was asked how I would be able to train for this race by a number of fellow arthritic sufferers.
